Masonry Restoration
Masonry restoration is a broad term and can mean a few brick repairs on the outside of your business or the full renovation of the masonry around an entire home. Thankfully, with almost 20 years of experience, our team is ready and able to handle it all!
Repointing is the most common form of masonry restoration which is the removal of a small amount of mortar between the joints of stone or brick and replacing it with fresh mortar paired with a fresh coat of sealer. In more advanced cases, stones or bricks may need to be replaced to make sure the building or structure is sound and safe to occupy.

Why it is better
Masonry Benefits
Increased Safety
When using a masonry surface on your flooring, you can have the benefit of unparalleled slip and skid resistance.
EcoFriendly
The best part of using masonry is that it is an eco-friendly material. Even after it has reached its service life, it can be crushed and recycled into new materials.
Affordability
Home and business owners are using masonry more than ever as the prices of traditional materials and materials are steadily climbing.
Reduced Maintenance
Masonry offers one of the most simplistic maintenance regimens compared to other building materials thanks to its natural composition.
Increased Resale Value
Masonry building has a better appearance than wood or steel, plain and simple.
Long-Lasting
As we have seen in historical buildings, masonry is one of the longest-lasting materials available. With some structures still standing from ancient Rome.
Energy Efficiency
you can experience much-improved energy efficiency as stone or brick due to its ability to store energy and delay the transmission of heat.
Acoustics
We know how loud early mornings and late nights can be at some points and that is why a mason siding for your home is a smart move.
Importance of Strong Foundation
Concrete Patio & Walkways
The key to a stable yet attractive patio is the combination of quality materials, proper installation, and most importantly a strong foundation. When any of these steps are skipped or done improperly, the integrity and durability of the paver patio is severely compromised.
POLYMERIC SAND
Sand sweeping is the final step of the process but also one of the most important. The sand will seep into the joints of the masonry and when water is applied, it will create a hard surface.
PATIO EDGING
Steel, plastic or concrete edgers will help keep the perimeter of the masonry from sinking, sagging or becoming loose entirely.
SURFACE MATERIAL
We take the installation of the surface material very seriously as if we don’t place the material precisely, it can lead to an uneven, crooked or uneven finish and that will lead to replacing the material.
SAND BED
This is the step that most contractors skip but we don’t! A sandbed will make sure the masonry is level as any small divot, bump pocket will make the entire patio look off and will make sure the patio properly drains.
GRAVEL ROCK BASE
Without a strong rock foundation or base, the patio will not have the structural integrity to stand the test of time. With a subpar foundation, it won’t be long until your patio sinks, shifts or bulges.
SUBBASE SOIL
This is the first step of the process that requires some math to get right. Any mishaps in this step will lead to problems when it comes time to lay the surface material.

Check some of your Answers below!
We know that the world of masonry and concrete can be a lot to take in especially if it is your first time dealing with it. So to try and help make it a little easier to understand, we have a few questions we commonly receive from our clients. If you need any other questions answered, feel free to give us a call today!
What is Masonry?
So what is masonry? Well to put it in a simple context, masonry is a form of construction that uses materials like stone, brick or concrete brick which is laid on top of each other in layers and held together by a strong mortar. Masonry is one of the oldest forms of building and dates back to the Roman era and some of the buildings are still standing today! Masonry is known for is its ability to offer endless options for design and effortless maintenance. Similar to concrete, masonry has a high compression strength but low tensile strength resulting in worry for cracking. But unlike concrete, our team of professional masonry contractors can plan out your masonry to reduce the chance of cracking.
Why Is Using Stone Or Brick Preferable To Wood?
When it comes to the masonry over traditional wood debate, studies have shown that brick and stone are the better options in most cases. The biggest advantage that stone and brick have over wood is overall protection. A study from Storm in 2004 reported that brick offers much better impact protection from wind-blown debris. To be exact, the study proved that brick structures well exceed the 34 miles per hour impact resistance that is required for high-velocity hurricane zones in place in Florida’s building code. Also, you won’t have to worry about a fire destroying your structure, unlike wood, while there may be some ash left over, your brick or stone will stand tall.
