The Materials We Use To
Create Custom Patios And Walkways
Pavers
Homeowners across the nation have been looking to paved patios as their go-to system for decades for some key reasons. For one, pavers offer a magnitude of variations that mimic the look of natural stone without the natural stone maintenance.
Along with the wide selection of bond patterns like stacked, herringbone and basketweave bonds, pavers are extremely durable and can withstand the effects of weathering, heavy traffic and dropped objects.
Poured Concrete
One of the most common patio and walkway materials is poured concrete. Poured concrete is known for its affordability, versatility, and longevity. Concrete walkways and patios also offer the opportunity as they can be coated with additional materials in the future.
Where there are options for future coatings, investing with concrete can bring benefits like durability as concrete can withstand up to 3,500 PSI!
Flagstone
Flagstone is a material that is considered to be a safe material for areas that are exposed to moisture as they offer natural slip and skid-resistance due to their cleft and texture.
Not only can flagstone resist moisture damage while being safe, but they are also resistant to heavy traffic and heat. These benefits make flagstone ideal for backyards with pools or homes with grass or heavy landscaping.
Brick
Bricks have been one of the most prominent deck and walkway materials on the market for centuries. With bricks, you will enjoy benefits like resistance to cracks, easy replacement and innate resistance to fire damage.
When working with bricks, you’ll find that there are many different options and variants as bricks come in red, orange and brown hues with variations that include recycled or tumbled bricks to add a touch of age or elegance on the walkway.
Concrete Pavers
When natural materials are not ideal for your setting, concrete pavers offer the same look with more versatility. One of the biggest benefits of concrete pavers is that they are much more affordable than natural materials and average 10 dollars a sq ft.
Along with a low cost, there are dozens of different styles and colors of concrete pavers to choose from, making intricate designs easier and more affordable with interlocking concrete pavers.

Why Choose Masonry?
One of the biggest reasons home and business owners decide to use masonry over other building materials is for the reason that they are built to last. When working with pavers and brick, you can expect your materials to last 50-100 years with proper maintenance. Natural stone can last even longer with a service life of up to 200 years with proper maintenance and adequate conditions.
Another major reason homeowners use masonry over other building materials is the fact that they are resistant to the adverse effects of weathering and the effects of expansion or contraction that comes with the changes of the seasons. When comparing the benefits of masonry to the benefits of other materials like wood, the list is much longer!
